Happy Easter! Poke Me Why Don’t You?

doubtingthomas

I think that the Gospel of John verse 20 pretty much sums it up for me. But I think that in our society, it is a lot worse than not believing because we cannot see or touch God. I think we have grown so cynical, egotistical and spoiled, that we won’t believe because we think we are god. Hey, man invented technology, we must be gods or at least we’re pretty dammed certain there is no god. Where the hell is he?

Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it.” A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

My wish for you on this Easter is that you allow your hardened heart to soften, even if it’s just enough to allow God’s grace into your life. This wish goes out especially to those who have a lot invested in their hardened positions. It’s a bad investment.

May the peace of the risen Lord be with you and may all your dreams come true, through Him.

me: Hey why did you pull out the bongos?
EB: I’m celebrating the ranking of our book. It’s doing pretty well on Amazon.
me: Oh yeah? How can we be doing good on a book we’ve made no money on?
EB Be patient grasshopper, it will come. I copied the rankings and one of the latest reviews here for you.
me: Did you pay her to write that? What? Don’t give me a dirty look, just asking. We need a lot more good reviews don’t we?
EB: Oh unbelieving one, I didn’t pay her. I don’t ever know her. But if I did, I would thank her for those very kind words. Wouldn’t you?
me: Yeah, I guess so. Wow, you made my day EB.
EB: I know. It’s what I do.

I agree with the other (first seven) reviewers, this is a good book, well worth reading.
It is impossible to say anything about the story without spoiling it/giving it away.
I knew nothing about it and really enjoyed going along for the ride, wherever it took me.
I got it because it is almost Easter, but it is perfect for any time of the year.
I am glad I read this book.
Well done Diogenes Ruiz, and Thank You!

Easter Bunny Apocalypse – Epic in the Making

Easter Bunny ApocalypseEB: Read anything good lately beside our own future Pulitzer Prize winner, “A Rabbit’s Tale An Easter Story”?
me: As a matter of fact, I’ve picked up Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower”. I got through all of the books except the last one, I just didn’t get into it. I’m giving it another shot. How about you?
EB: I’ve been reading the latest epic-in-the-making “Easter Bunny Apocalypse”!
me: What’s it about?
EB: It’s a flash-fiction novel about me and my brother rabbits as we struggle for the future of our rabbitdom. It’s intense, scary and funny. But most important of all, it’s about me and my homies.
me: Who wrote it?
EB: My friend Ksenia Anske got a bunch of talented writers together and they are each writing a chapter. That’s the picture from her site of Chapter One.
me: Wow, that sounds pretty cool. How many chapters are there?
EB: I don’t know. It’s not finished yet.
me: Then how can you be reading it?
EB: She is posting each chapter as it gets written.
me: What chapter are you up to?
EB: I’m on Chapter 6. I don’t want to ruin it for you but you’ll never think of peeps the same way again.
me: Maybe I’ll read that next.
EB: You should.
me: Why?
EB: Cause…you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll consume mass quantities of peeps. Here’s the link http://www.kseniaanske.com/blog/2013/3/12/easter-bunny-apocalypse-chapter-1.html

Back from Rome: Catching Up with the Easter Bunny

IMG_0885me: So, how was Rome EB?
EB: It was great. I was invited to be there as Pope Francis was elected and afterwards, when he came out to greet the people for the first time.
me: Yeah, I saw you on TV.
EB: How’d I look?
me: Fine, except I’m not sure you should have stuck your ears into the shot while the pope was greeting people in St. Peter’s Square for the first time. I posted a picture of it and people recognized your ears right away.
EB: It was live TV, what can I say, ears happen. How did it go here? Did you run the free promo for the book this weekend?
me: Yeah, it ran Friday and Saturday. We gave away 3165 free Kindle versions of ‘A Rabbit’s Tale An Easter Story.”
EB: What? Are you crazy, man?
me: What do you mean?
EB: That’s a lot of free books you gave away?
me: So, that’s what a give-away is. Besides if people read it and like it, perhaps they will write a good review and recommend it to their friends. Everybody wins.
EB: Yeah, but you didn’t get a dime for any of those books you gave away, even if they are in Ebook format.
me: I know, but it was a “give-away” What is it about the word “give-away” that you don’t understand?
EB: It’s just that you are kind of a tight wad, so it is unusual behavior for you.
me: I’m not a tight wad! Why do you say that?
EB: You always struck me as kind of a cheap guy.
me: Why, because I would not buy 3 tons of peeps?
EB: No, you just never spend money on fun stuff like collectable Star Wars figurines, or a Maserati convertible.
me: Yeah, I guess when it comes to that it might appear that I’m a cheap guy to you. Can’t argue with your logic, EB, although right now I do have the urge to pull your ears off. Maybe eventually, if our book sells, I won’t be so cheap and won’t feel like rearranging you ears like I do right now.
EB: Now, don’t get hostile thoughts because of your innate cheapness.
me: Geeez, OK see you later. I have to go get some things done.
EB: Yeah, see you. Don’t forget, we are going out to the carrot bar later, you’re buying!

Pope Francis Makes History – Easter Bunny Was There!

New Pope and Easter BunnyHistory was made today as Cardinal Bergoglio was elected Pope Francis became the next leader of the Catholic Church. I video taped the coverage and was surprised when EB came into the picture for a second during the coverage. Evidently, he was permitted to be among the few who accompanied the new Pope as he spoke to the masses. I’m very excited about our new pope and pray that he will bring Catholics together and lead us into an era of renewed faith, tolerance and love. This will be a special Easter as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus with our new Pope Francis I.
